Intel公司今天宣布，他们在研发多年的硅光子技术上终于获得大突破，建立起了“全球首个集成激光器的端到端硅基光数据连接”。据Intel称，这项成果的重大意义在于终于“证明了未来计算机可以使用光信号替代电信号进行数据传输”。

在网络上利用光纤传输信号已经算古董，但是用光信号替代电信号进行计算机内部的数据传输一直未能实现，其中的最大障碍在于需要在信号传输的两端安装光电转换设备。硅光子技术，简而言之就是使用常见硅芯片来完成光电转换。Intel今天宣布的突破，实际上就是开发出了一颗可以将电信号转化为光信号的芯片，以及一颗再把光信号变回电信号的芯片。

今天读到一篇不错的文章，讲的是关于房贷债务总量，新房供应过多，以及未来房价的走势。要点如下：

• 历史上房贷总额正常值是房屋总价值的40%左右。现在房贷在62%上下，比正常情况下多出近4万亿美元。
• 房贷低利率的情况会持续相当长：目前有1/4的房贷在水下，Fed会让现在超低的利率维持很长一段时间。
• 1992-2007年间大量新房兴建，其间新房供应量超过新家庭形成总数不少，这些过多库存需要时间来消除。根据历史经验，这次的积压数量可能要7-10年才得以消除。消除库存的办法只有一个：降价！
